Paba (Para-Aminobenzoic Acid)

Function
PABA is a basic component of folate. It is helpful in assimilating pantothenic acid also. PABA is an antioxidant that helps protect against sunburn and consequently skin cancer. It acts assists in the formation of red blood cells and the digestion and utilization of protein. PABA helps in the production of intestinal flora (bacteria) and can help restore hair color if graying was caused by stress.

Sources
Kidney, liver, molasses, mushrooms, spinach and whole grains.

Deficiency
Can lead to depression, fatigue, gastro-intestinal disorders, graying of hair, irritability, nervousness, and discoloration of the skin.
